"The characters.are also quite bland," bemoaned Holloway, "they're devoid of personality and feel like empty vessels." GameSpot's Jordan Ramée echoed the exact same sentiment, critiquing that these "bland and stereotypically written" characters felt "shallow" and that most were "completely defined by their culture or profession. Uninspiring, too, was the game's cast of generic characters. For PSU's Tommy Holloway, despite its "pristine, professional aesthetic," Hyper Scape was "lacking in personality" and ended up "just feel(ing) bland," suffering especially from a lack of "varied geography and weather effects that differentiate locations in other shooters." Hyper Scape Not Launching Error Fixed: In this video Ive shown how to fix various errors occuring at the startup of the game Hyperscape ( Vivosdk. While the maps were considered to be interesting and the aesthetic tone adequately rendered, most critics were unconvinced that the Tron-inspired shooter had carved out a significant enough visual style to make it distinctive. A game's setting and visual aesthetic play a huge part in dictating how well fans will initially react to it. This ended up being one of Hyper Scape's most glaring issues. Pick up my sci-fi novels Herokiller and Herokiller 2, and read my first series, The Earthborn Trilogy, which is also on audiobook. It does not play well to be a late entrant in this genre unless you are arriving with some blockbuster evolutions to the genre, and I’m just not sure Hyper Scape has that, from this initial look.įollow me on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. We have a lot of well-established, fun, great-looking games in this genre that aren’t going anywhere. Since Hyper Scape has cross-platform progress transfer, it adds a whole new level of complications and Ubisoft is working on solving this. This seems very much designed for Quake-like arena play, and yet that’s kind of a style of gameplay that isn’t in vogue these days, so I’m not sure what the audience for that will be here. Mainly the players on console have been seeing a Server Connection Error: The Hyper Scape servers are unreachable. And yet I do have to wonder if there’s enough to get people to switch to it from their current BR of choice, whether that’s Fortnite, Apex, Warzone or what have you. This is not the Lawbreakers or Battleborn of the BR realm, certainly. There’s nothing like, terrible about Hyper Scape. But when you’re playing on the ground, it feels like you’re just going inside 50 copies of the same five story building over and over, though mostly just hopping around on roofs for actual combat, ignoring the buildings below altogether. When you’re 200 feet in the air, the Hyper Scape map looks pretty diverse and beautiful. I guess that’s how Fortnite works, but here it all just seems rather generic, as does the map itself. It seems like it should be a class-based game, and yet there are no classes, just different gender and race avatars of identical characters so everyone is on the same playing field. I also feel like this game lacks much of a personality. Granted, I prefer this to Valorant, but that’s really a matter of not liking the CS:GO genre all that much. If you thought Apex Legends was a “movement focused” BR compared to Warzone or PUBG, Hyper Scape is like 20x that, and for me, it’s just a bit too much. It’s too arena-ish for me, with blindingly fast-paced battles with people hopping around rooftops and teleporting 50 feet in the air. I will admit that I am not terribly good at the game in my initial PC playtime here, and yet I am frankly just not enjoying the high-flying combat all that much. This is where my praise of Hyper Scape sort of ends, however.
